LASU Election: Fakas Rolls Out Plans

Emmanuel Fakas, a 400 level student of History & International Relations Studies (HIRSA) in Lagos State University, has declared his intention to contest for the post of president in the department.


Fakas, a part time student of LASU, Isolo campus, told Campus Square that he has what it takes to lead the department to greater height.

“I am using this opportunity to tell my course mates that I have what it takes to become the next president of our great department. My first assignment, if I win the election, is to reposition the department and ensure that students' welfare is well taken care of,” he said.

Fakas, who had spent a year as the vice president of the department, promised the students that during his tenure, they will be entitled to two higher education notebook, pen and HIRSA's T-Shirt in every academic session.

He commended his campaign team led by Sunday Akintoye, saying that the team have giving their best to actualise his political ambition.

“I will continue to campaign till the eve of the election. I have distributed 500 T-shirts to the students as a campaign strategy and I am quite impressed that the students promised to  vote for me," he said.

Campus Square gathered that over 15 students have declared their intention to contest for various posts in the department. The electoral committee was inaugurated recently. The date for the election will be announced this weekend.
