Step B: FEDPOFFA Receives 250,000 Dollar Grant

The Federal Polytechnic Offa has received a grant of $250,000  to  upgrade  facilities in the Polytechnic’s Instrumentation Laboratories.


Disclosing this to members of the Academic Board recently, the Project Manager of the polytechnic's Step-B Project, Dr. Anthony Okonta commended the management of the polytechnic for the commitment and determination to ensure that the grant was eventually received.

Okonta, who formally presented the letter of grant to the Rector, Dr. Mufutau Olatinwo, also linked the success of the committee to the hard work of the committee members.

Olatinwo expressed gratitude to the committee for the commitment to duty and sacrifice and hoped other grants will soon be coming the way of the polytechnic.

He also expressed the determination of the management to ensure conducive environment for learning in the polytechnic.

Recently, Federal Government through the Ministry of Education processed a $180 million World Bank facility to support the development of science and technology education at the post basic (Step-B) level. Post basic education refers to federal universities, polytechnics and colleges of education.

The government through the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) also organised a two-day workshop to strengthen the capabilities of technical and vocational education towards successful implementation of STEP-B Project. The workshop was also organised to encourage the institutions to develop proposals.

Other members of the Step-B Project at the presentation of the letter of grant to the rector were the Monitoring and Evaluation officer Mr. Tajudeen Olanrewaju Shittu, the Project Accountant Mr. Abdulwaheed Adekunle Yeosufu and the Procurement officer Mr. Gbade Musliyu Oyerinde.
