The Federal Government has been called upon to find ways of tackling examination malpractices in the nation’s education sector.
The Director, Mozan Nursery and Primary School and College , Mr. Moses Hunge, made this call during the Valedictory Service and Prize Giving Day of the schools recently.
According to him, the menace of examination malpractice in the education sector calls for serious attention and drastic action from the government to nip it in the bud.
He said if the nation’s youths must be equipped to face the challenges of the 21st century, malpractice in the education sector must be tackled once and for all, adding that every stakeholder in the education sector must join the crusade of eradicating this evil from schools in the country.
“The government should lay less emphasis on paper certificate, while our teachers should endeavour to make learning exciting as well as challenging.
“In Mozan schools, we train every child to imbibe the habit of honesty and hardwork in their studies. Exposure to the principles of success and motivational talk enabl them to develop self-confidence in their academic pursuit,” he said.
Hunge commended the state government for boosting education in the state through the provision of free education and free textbooks to students in public schools.
He stated that his school is commited to providing qualitative education to the youths in order to prepare them for the future challenges.
Chairman, Executive Motors and Chairman of the Day, Mr. Ayo Ogunsan, commended the school for being in the vanguard of moulding the youths, while he pledged to pay the school fees of some children who distinguished themselves academically.
To mark the day, pupils and students of the schools displayed their skills when they engaged in activities such as news casting, choreography among others.
