In the same vein, Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola, has decided to intervene in the crisis between the Non-Academic Staff of Universities (NASU), Lagos State University Chapter and the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lateef Hussein.
The NASU members, who embarked on a strike to protest against the poor working condition in LASU, visited the governor in his office on Monday, where they made their grievances known to him.
Campus Square gathered that after the meeting, the governor said he had been waiting for a formal compliant on the crisis, and promised to settle it amicably.
The NASU members, who spoke with Campus Square, however, said that they are counting on Governor Fashola to save them from the harsh working condition in LASU.
“We know that Gov. Fashola is a man of his words, so we hope that justice will be done. We are seriously counting on him,” a NASU member said.
